BOO

Buddhu is a "scaredy dog."  (And I can't spell his name correctly.)  In "Heart Talk" last week, I massacred it.  Let me try once again:  "Buddhufius".  It is a conglomeration of Buddha, Hindu, Sufi, and Jesus.  No wonder he is eccentrically frenetic.  (Buddhu is my little rescue doggie - a Malti-Poo.)

Well, he was thrown away by his previous owner and arrived in my life the day after Sinjin (my soul-mate poodle) died.  (He was named "St. John the Poodle" - "Sinjin" for short.  A British compilation of "St. John.")

Buddhufius sports the illustrious nickname of "Boo."  More in keeping with his personal Mardi Gras mystic society - "The Blessed Order of Buddhufius."  (Known affectionately as The B.O.O.B.'s)

Boo is afraid of the cat, a thirteen year old Himalayan (crotchety old lady) named "Gabriella"

 - "Gabby" for short.  (Should be "Crabby")

This morning he wouldn't walk across the living room into the kitchen because the cat was in the hall.

Actually, I understand fear; have compassion for it.  I once experienced it so profoundly my body went into shock.  I prayed frantically:  "God, please help me."

Hard-headed me couldn't be still long enough to hear God say, "Child, you're fighting windmills." (Don Quixote reference)  (Windmills are akin to phantoms.)  "The only Reality is Me."

Or, in everyday language, "Shut up. You are creating so much mental clamor you can't hear or understand the simple Truth."  (It was actually said more gently.  More like, "Calm down - I'm here.")  :o)

Revelations

Wow!  A flash of insight just floated by.  Can I capture it?

C. D. is playing, "Surely the Presence of the Lord Is In This Place."  Some do not realize that is what Jacob exclaimed after his other-worldly dream/vision of a ladder (spinal column) that extended from earth (root-1st chakra) to heaven (7th chakra); and angels (kundalini - shakti- nerve fluid - Divine Ideas)) ascended and descended.

However, that was an old revelation (to me).  (Though a good one.)

Came home from Class last night with a headache and had a sleepless night.  (No angel activity.)  Now, I'm groggy.  But what I caught a glimpse of - my revelation - was pure Emmet Fox teachings.  I've "wrestled" with this headache just as Jacob "wrestled" with the angel at the brook right before his consciousness-changing revelation.  His new "name" (nature, awareness) was now "Israel."  Meaning, Is = Isis, the great female goddess of Egypt;  Ra = the male Egyptian sun god;  El means "of god." (El was also a powerful Canaanite god.)

"Israel" then, esoterically, would signify the mighty forces of God coming into balance (female/male) in one unified vibration.  But I have known that for years, too.

What, then, was the "flash?"  This:  Only what one knows and accepts (believes) as "real" can be "real" (exist) - for us.  (Oh, Emmet!  You're so smart!)  I've "known" that, too, but not always really "known" it.  (Ha - being intimate with it.  In the Biblical sense, you know.)

Thus, it's obvious that on some level of awareness I accepted the concept of headacheness.  (Or, I did.  Headache is gone now.)  :o)

Lexophile - Lover of Words

I've been called a "Word-Weaver."  Pretty term.  That's 'cause I flirt with words; make passionate love to concepts and ideas.

Hot stuff, that!

Too many answers in life are not being questioned.

It has been said that "love conquers all."  Is love, then, a warrior?  Take the concept of "Jihad," meaning a holy war.  It is a misnomer.  "Holy" and "war" are not synonymous.  They are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

As water douses a fire, Love douses the rage of the un-lovely.  The presence of Love fills the space with sweetness; with melody and gentle smiles.  No battle, with all of it's strong, militant, self-righteous passion ensues.

What Grace.  To comprehend by "spiritual osmosis" how Spirit works.  In me? Yes.  I want it!  For others?  I must know it.  They may then realize that Spirit fills them and thereby know what is needed.  I don't need to try and direct their thoughts.  My job is to know Spirit is there.

Just read on A.O.L. about "honor killings" in Turkey.  Or, the forcing of women to commit suicide because they brought "dishonor" to their families.  (Some of them simply flirted with a boy.)

Oh, why can't they see how they dishonor themselves with their false pride and brutish egos?  How shamed they should feel for their stupid prejudices and antiquated beliefs.

The words of the gentle Master still echo - "Thou shalt love. . . . ."  (One can finish the sentence by saying God, then neighbor, then self.)

No wonder the Earth sheds tears and complains with storms, floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, and global warming.  She is begging the people to listen; to wake-up - while they still can.  Yet, I wonder, are the "straws" of hatred, fear, mistrust, and revenge (false pride) causing "cracks" in the camel's vertebrae?

We're long past the time of "Straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel."  (I always thought that was a comical example - that Jesus was making a "funny" when he said that.  But he sure hit the nail on the head.)

Those prideful misguided souls may well "choke" on an excess of "camel meat."  Or suffer a "fate worse than death" - re-incarnate as an abused female (in a world full of volcanic testosterone).  Oh Yeah!

Where is the "fun" in funerals?  Well, maybe not fun, but there can be joy and laughter and celebration.  Certainly a more enlightened way of looking at things.

Such was the case at Jack's funeral service yesterday.  It was the first time that I had attended, or spoken at, a Baha'i service.  I found it to be deeply spiritual, and considered to be a celebration of his life.  There was remembrance, laughter, song, and prayers in Arabic and Persian.  There was a gift of a rose for each one attending.  Impressive.

I found the Baha'i community to be very sweet and sincere in their presentation.  It is what the Buddhists would call a "Sangha."  The mystical number of three.  In the Buddhist tradition (not the Baha'i) there are the three:  The Buddha (The Enlightened One); The Dharma (the way to realize enlightenment); and the Sangha (the spiritual community which comes together for support and  encouragement.)

In Christianity, it is the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Or, as Jesus said:  I am the Way (by my example you can find the way), the Truth (the enlightened one), and the Life (the Sangha - the living of one's deepest convictions and beliefs).

In metaphysics it is Mind, Idea, and Expression.   And in Mysticism it is Spirit, Soul and Body.

In Truth, it is All One.  The ancients called it "The Dot", which radiates as (and into) all else.

Impossible to adequately articulate such deep truths; almost foolish to try.

Encore:

Another sunami - 500 souls left the earth en masse.  Earth beseeches and weeps.  They don't seem to "see."

Saw Al Gore's movie tonight:  "An Inconvenient Truth."

Inspires me to climb on my soap box - but to what avail?  "There are none so blind as those who will not see." - Matthew Henry

(It is, after all, an inconvenient truth.)

It's raining on the west side of the house, and there is a ray of sunshine peeking through on the east side of the house.  My Mama used to say that when the sun shone through rain that "the devil was beating his wife."  Mama was so descriptive and colorful in her idioms.

As Jesus said, "'The devil' is a liar and the father of lies."  (John 8:44)  An apt translation would be that the whole concept of an actual "devil" is untrue (a lie) and as a father produces seed after his own kind (DNA), the humongous "lie" of false belief (belief in the appearances of the world of form) begats other fears and scary imaginings.  That kind of "hell" we have all been cast into - in this life - on occasion.  Have sometimes assumed "squatter's rights" and taken up long-time residence.

Is there a way out???  Of course there is.  Shall you not know it?  Do you not know it?  (Bet you do)  Just be still - and listen.  Your heart will tell you what is true.  With each beat, it will whisper, "God is."  (As we say in Unity - "and all is well.")

"I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."  (Isa. 43:19)
