CAROLYN'S H.O.W.G. (HANGING OUT WITH GOD) # 12
It
has been several weeks since I shared with you. I actually wrote a couple
of things (hung out with God in quiet) but life takes it's
own twists and turns. Mostly, I was blessed by visits from my
granddaughters. One day I was thinking that I haven't had
"space" to hang out with God, and God spoke to me rather
loudly, in His still, small voice: "You can't see the forest for the
trees." "Who do you think has been smiling at you
adoringly? Gurgling with the joy of life? Spreading sweetness
without measure?" In other words, "Who have you been hanging
out with?"
There
are none so blind that those who will not see. The Apostle John did a
good job of labeling God: "God is Love." (1 John 4:8)
Holding
an eleven-month old baby and enjoying the company of her mother
were great gifts of God. I stand corrected. . .
. .I stand enlightened. (Actually, I am not standing at all
right now. I'm sitting down.) :o)
This old
Earth, and everything on it, continues to morph - some things more slowly
than others. My family structure continues to change. I have the
additions of two Davids; one son-in-law, one grandson
in law. There is only one thing I can think of to add to the
confusion. Younger daughter, Missy, and I will have to
find eligible (and vibrationally suited)
father/son males named David. Then we would have David #1; David #2;
David #3; and David #4. (Just teasing. :o) Not interested.)
Don't
know what order I would number them. Both appeared close
to the same time. One is a Unity minister, as are Christy and I. Three in one family. (One would begin to perceive the
odor of sanctity - if we were not all so human.)
Well,
I do ramble. Let me get on with my teaching assignments. Here
are a few I wrote in October.

WHEN
THE LIGHT DAWNS
Why
does it take a lifetime to really "get it?" Even when one
reads/understands metaphysical thought, sometimes it takes a gentle
"Aha" experience to make it "real."
The
Master said, "Seek and you will find." (Matt. 7:7)
Why has that not been looked at with a WOW! ? I
guess we (I) heard it as , "Someday when you
are more elevated in consciousness, you will seek higher
things." (True, too)
Then,
one day, one catches self criticizing a situation, person, or self and realizes
that one is seeking faults. One is seeking what is wrong. And the
rest of the illuminating teaching is the "if" that is in all Bible
promises: "If you will do THIS, Spirit (or Spiritual Law) will do
THAT." Or, whatever you look for you will find!
Look for what is wrong, what is bad, in a person, place, or thing, and
sure enough - you will find it!
I
should have seen that over the years my first negative impressions proved to be
vibrational myths only. Things, people, have
the Light as their Truth. When we each seek the Light, the Good -
guess what? We shall find what we are looking for. As comic, Flip Wilson, used to say: What you see is what you
get!"

NEW
THINGS
What
a treat - a rare gift. I looked out of my window this morning and saw,
blooming in my yard, a beautiful, pink, large azalea blossom. All
good "red-necks" know that azaleas do not bloom in October; they
bloom in February or March.
I
guess God meant it when He said, "I will do a new thing."
(Isaiah 43:19) The desert shall rejoice and blossom as a
rose." (Isaiah 35:1) Or, unlikely things can happen.
Ah! such wonders unfold when Spirit's joy is
unrestricted by our negative thinking.
I
guess no one told the azalea bush that it was not following earth's
rules. I guess that the joy of the Lord is a higher vibration than
earthly Autumn sleep. I guess that bold little
flower showed us all a thing or two. (Yea, flowers that
bloom when they want to express the thrill of life.) (Yea, people
who do the same.)

EVOLUTION
HAPPY
BIRTHDAY TO. . . . .ME! How old am I?
Ancient! (In Soul)
One
of my favorite poems is titled "Evolution" by Langdon Smith. It
begins, "When you were a tadpole and I was a fish in a Paleozoic time. . .
. ." and follows the progression of these two life forms through many
transitions and reincarnations until the present one. (Written around
1904) The two sat at
Do
I remember being a tadpole or a fish? No. Nor do I want to remember
that.

SWEETNESS
OF LIFE
A Happy Birthday call from my granddaughter, Heather, and
little ray of sunshine, Brianna whose happy gurgle was heard in the
background.
God
has wondrous ways of "wiping the tear from every eye." (Rev.
21:4) So often we take these gifts for granted. The greatest
blessings are often unnoticed, or little thought of,
until they are gone; no longer available. (Not to say that new blessings will
not appear.)
Present
Blessing: Peace, quiet, equilibrium . . . . .and
a cup of coffee with real cream and sugar. Yum!

NEW
NAME
I
discovered a new name (to me) in the Metaphysical Bible Dictionary (written by
Charles Fillmore). A marvel of a book!
The
name is NERIAH. It means, "Jah is
light." (Or, Light of God) Neat! I like it!

MYSTERIES
When
I was little, my Dad wore a Masonic ring. I used to think that it
was a signet ring. It had the initial G in it (with a pyramid
thingy). His name was Guy. I think he just joined the Masons for
business or social reasons. It was very secretive.
Mu uncle said he couldn't join because he was a Catholic.
Later,
Andy, my late husband, told me he had tried it, but balked when he was told to
call the "head honcho," "O Worshipful Master."
(Someone he knew as a "regular" person.)
What
a lot of complicated, ceremonial fiddle-faddle to
celebrate Life; Breath; Love; and Oneness. That is the real Great
Mystery. All are welcome and invited to the "Feast." God
is no respecter of persons. (Acts 10:34)
I
have not checked any of this information (It has not been Googled).
It is just memory. if I got it wrong and stepped on
anyone's toes, it was not my intention. The memories are from long ago
and may not be pertinent to today.
Besides,
"Big Daddy" (God) made me do it! :o)
