HANGING OUT WITH GOD - # 16 - MAY 13,2007

In The Beginning:

In the beginning (of beginnings), there was a Stream (Vibration) of joy that wanted to know, love, share, Itself yet more, so It began to think (image) Itself into varying expressions - like trying on new clothes to see how they look.  And the Creative Stream felt greater joy for the sharing of Itself and emitted a Great Thought:  "This is sooo good.  Great good.  Very, very good.  This is fun.  This is my good pleasure. (Giggle)"

Joy abounded.  All of the new outlets of the Stream laughed, loved, and played in the current.

What happened, do you suppose?

A Deep Philosophical Question:

You eat bacon.  Bacon is pig-meat.  Do you then become a pig?  Or does the pig become a part of you?

Does it depend on how you look at it.  Or, is both true?

Question:  We are told that God is Love.  When we love are we then becoming God, or is God becoming us?

Again, is not both true?

The Master said:  "Thou in me, I in them - we are all made perfectly One."

The World:

"Be ye in the world, but not of the world."

We live in the world.  We live, breathe and have our being in the world. We act as worldly creatures.  The world hypnotizes us, beguiles us, intrigues us.  It casts a spell over us and causes us to slumber to the reality of who and what we really are:  God's agents on assignment in the "Far Country."

The world of fantasy and fable well describes our dilemma.  For instance, in the movie, The Wizard of Oz, there is a scene in which Dorothy and her little band of 'those who feel incomplete' had to venture through a field of poppies to get to the wizard.  The poppies caused great drowsiness; a delusion of the senses.  The energy of the poppy-field lulled them to sleep.  It is an urge difficult to ignore.  (I sympathize - yawn!)

However, to reach their destination they could not be beguiled; they must be awake.

Once the Buddha was asked if he was a god.  He answered no.  Then, he was asked, what was he?  The Buddha said simply, "I am awake!"

Dorothy and group finally got to see the wizard, only to find that they already possessed that for which they asked:  a heart, a brain, courage, and the means to go home.  (ruby slippers)

Good parable.  We already possess a heart, a brain, courage, and God (home).  (The Kingdom of God is within you.  Luke 17:21)  Just click your heels and realize, "There's no place like Home."  The drowsiness begins to depart from you and you find that you are awakening.

The Master said, "Therefore I speak to them in parables:  because seeing they do not see; and hearing they do not hear, neither do they understand." (Matt. 13:13).

Then he continued:  "Blessed are your eyes for they see: and your ears for they hear."  (Matt. 13:16)

Do you see?

Spirit Speaks:

Spirit may speak in a "still, small voice," but it is unmistakably LOUD!

Discovery:

There is Unity in opportunity.  (Seems like it should be vice versa but the letters do not fit.)

Subtle Destruction:

Beautiful day.  I'm sitting on my front porch.  The sun is shining.  The birds are singing. . . . . and it is 8:00 A.M.  Truly.  Moi.  No, I'm not up early - I just have not been "down."  (Or asleep, I should say.)

I became so energized at class last night that I couldn't get into sleep-mode.  I mean, Babylon, that great harlot, got her just deserts.  (Rev. 19)  (Alas!  A tough fate for those who seduce the kings of the earth.)

(My observation:  Seems to always be the woman who gets the short end of the stick. Baby, it takes two to tango. Ha)  That's because the feminine symbolizes the emotional/feeling nature - guess that's what usually gets us into trouble.  When our emotions lead us to prostitute our principles, our integrity, then "the Beast" in us runs wild.

It can appear seemingly subtle.  A little hurt ego here, a little jealousy there. . . Or a "wham-bang" of a bad temper.

For some it is addictions that seduce us. . . . . all the way from physical to emotional.

In spite of all of the hell the initiate goes through in the Book of Revelation, it has a happy ending.  That's encouraging, seeing as how mountains fall on him and his sea turns to blood.  And, oh, that sunburn from being scorched by the sun!  Sounds like a day of beaching at Gulf Shores and the brilliant shades of red one turns.  A scarlet hussy, for sure!

What am I talking about?  Read the Book of Revelation and see. (Should have come to class when I taught it so brilliantly.)

A Pause:

My friend, Donna, received a "new name" last year while we were out west.  Many spiritual aspirants receive a new name from their teacher, or from Spirit.  That symbolizes a new state of consciousness:  i.e.  Abram became Abraham  (Maybe A Brahmin?)  Sarai, whose name means bitter, became Sarah, a noble lady;  Jacob (the illumined intellect)  became Israel (a prince with God).  Israel is one of the deeper mysteries. The mystical name denotes the completeness of God:  Is from "Isis," mother Goddess of Egypt; "Ra" from Egyptian sun-god, "Ra;" and "El," Hebrew meaning "with God."  It is a secret name that combines female/male energies. One.  "Hear, Oh Israel, the Lord your God is One."

The name (nature) her spiritual self gave to her was "Selah."  It is found in the Old Testament as a space between the Psalms; a pause, a breathing space.  God expresses as Holy Breath.  And Selah, to coin a phrase from an old cola commercial, is "the pause that refreshes."

Growing:

All gardens are beautiful, whether wild, untamed nature or cultivated and neat.  All living things have beauty just as they are.  Yet, if a daisy were to decide it wanted to be a rose - it can't.  It can only be what it was programmed (in the seed) to be.  Best to enjoy being a happy daisy - and brighten the world just as it is.

You were programmed with a god-seed.  You may not have sprouted your godling self, but you can never be anything else.  However, you can appear less, if you believe yourself to be so.  And those who do not know the promise of the seed may think you are just a weed.  Don't waste your time trying to live up to the expectations of others.  A true gardener knows your true worth and appreciates your true beauty.  Be yourself.  You are uniquely - you.

Destiny:

It's already begun!!!!!!!!!  So those "in the know" tell us.  (Do they know?)  Actually, it was supposed to have started in 1992, and will end in 2012.  December 21, 2012.  (Winter Solstice)  That is considered to be the bridge from the old consciousness to the new one.  The new era.

December 21, 2012, is the day that the Mayan calendar ends.  I believe it is also the end of the age of Kali-Yuga, though I am not too sure about that.  But we are in that age.  It is a time of uncertainty.

There will be an alignment of Father Sun with Mother Galaxy that only occurs every 26,000 years.  It is a time of turnover to a new cycle.  One would have to live in a bubble not to see how much the world has changed in the past 20 yrs. - 10 yrs. - 5 yrs - and since yesterday.  One poetic new-ager put it:  "We are at the edge of time."  It will be the beginning of the new human.  It will be the Age of Homo-Luminous.  (And here I was trying to get a grip on being a Homo -Sapiens and now I have to morph in five years to being a Light Being.)  (Aggh.  No rest for the weary.)

Termites?:

Stuart Wilde tells us that there are spiritual Terrorists.  (I think I know a few)   But I have another word for them:  spiritual termites.  When vibrational energies start eating away at the  spiritual structure by gossip, wounded egos, power struggles, etc., doggone if termites don't appear and start eating the physical structure.  Strange how exact the Law operates.  As Jesus said, nothing will be kept hidden, but all will be shouted from the very rooftops.  (No, we do not have termites at the church now - but we have in the past.)

                                                       I AM THAT

I know - what it is like to be human,

    Because you are,

        And I AM.

I know what it is like to be a beastie,

    Because they are My life,

        And I AM.

I know what it is like to be a tree,

    Because it is,

        And I AM.

I know what it is like to be unlimited potential,

That can be formed into infinite possibilities,

        Because - I AM.

I know what it is like to begin to awaken to Truth,

    Because you did

        And I AM.

I know what it is ALL like,

        Because together

            We did.

Because We are One.

And I AM THAT!

A Vision:

I enter the Temple of Silence.  It is dark.  I cannot see.  I seek in my soul for the source of peace; assurance.

A light appears in the midst.  A candle?  A ritual fire?

The flames ascend.  The smoke becomes two paths.  One is the arduous path of the initiate (one who faces obstacles to uncover the illusion of this realm). It rises into the unknown. The other appears to be a path of pleasantness. There is music, laughter, frolicking.  It, too, ascends into the clouds.

I cannot see where I am going.  I do not know the way.  Which path to choose?  Is one the more spiritual?  Maybe both are right.  Maybe it is just a matter of preference.  Maybe not.

Again I ask, "Which path to choose?"  A more serious question than it may seem at first.

Is it not a choice that we have consistently made throughout the ages?  That we make again even now?

Allegories, Fables, and Fairy Tales:

The Three little Godlings and the Big Bad World

Once upon a time there were three little godlings.  They felt an inner urge to create a habitat for themselves, so each begin to build a house according to what he could perceive and understand.

The first little godling was rather simple-minded and didn't like to give much thought to things.  That was too much effort.  His name was Gullible Godling - and he decided to build his house out of twigs.  Twigs were easy to find and didn't take much vision to gather.

The second little godling was sort of a know-it-all.  He thought that if he believed it, it would be right for everyone else, too.  He was quick to criticize and judge all who thought differently than he.  His name was Self-righteous Godling.  His leader had told him all about house-building.  He knew the right way, so he thought.  So, he built his house out of straw.

The third little godling was called Mystical Godling.  Mystical Godling had learned that he should always commune with the Great Godling to be sure that he was doing things the best way.  He knew that he had free-will and could do things as he pleased, but he also knew he would have to live with the consequences of his thoughts and actions.  He was surprised that his brothers did not seem to know this.  After a time of prayer and meditation, his guidance was to build his house out of rock.  Then he knew that winds of circumstance could blow, but would not harm him.  He constructed his house with something more solid than the whims of his brothers.

And so the brother Godlings entered their nests made with their own essence.

But as darkness approached (and they could not see with physical sight) an ill wind began to blow.  It was the Big Bad World thundering down on them.  Gullible Godling was so afraid.  He had believed "they" that told him to play with sticks. The Big Bad World howled and huffed and puffed and said, "Little godling, little godling, let me in." And he huffed and puffed and blew the house in.  But Gullible was scared and ran to his brother Mystical..

So the Big Bad World went to the house of Self-Righteous Godling.  Again the Big Bad World howled and huffed and puffed.  Self-Righteous found he did not have a solid leg to stand on.  He saw he had been all noise.  The Big Bad World did in his house, too.  He, too, ran to his brother, Mystical Godling, who loved all little godlings and took him in.

Then the Big Bad World tried to play tricks on Mystical, but Mystical was too enlightened to fall for his illusions.  He held fast to what his heart told him, and the Big Bad World wore himself out trying to beguile and glamour Mystical Godling. You see, his house was built on stones (a symbol for Truth) and all three little Godlings were safe and secure in this sanctuary.

Together they rejoiced and sang, "Who's afraid of the Big Bad World, the Big Bad World, the Big Bad World. Who's afraid of the Big Bad World - Tra la fiddle dee dee!"

And they all lived happily ever after (Until next time).

The end.
