Hello Dear Ones,

Hanging Out With God will now be titled IN THE SPIRIT.  Same writer (me).  Many things are changing.  God is constant - yet ever new.  (S)He has declared to us that there will be a new thing and we are to know it.  (Isa. 43:19)  "Shall ye not know it?"

Perception:

"Render unto Caesar (materiality) the things that are Caesar's and unto God (spirituality)

the things that are God's."  (Matt.22:21)

Therein lies the enigma of man.  We are spiritual beings dwelling in a material plane of existence.

In truth, it is all perception; awareness; consciousness.  I know people who are very "earthy minded" who live to satisfy very earthy, sensual sensations.  It's part of the earth-game of life.  It's a built-in biological gimmick.  The earth-urge causes us to eat, drink, and procreate.  "All creatures great and small" follow this pattern.  Some more, some less.

For instance, one rather expects animals to act like - well - animals.  However, there are degrees of animal consciousness:  wild, ferocious beasts; barnyard variety; and domesticated.  Each acts appropriately to its level of consciousness.  Through a spiral of evolutionary consciousness, the beast becomes tame; even loving.

And, there are hu-mans (thinking breath of God beings) that have the capacity to grasp more subtle vibrations than the average.  But, how often we choose to act as barnyard creatures, identifying ourselves more with replicating forces of nature than with our true natures, which are godlings.

Perhaps it comes down to those who see things as "letter of the law" and those who perceive it all as Spirit.  (The letter of the law killeth; the Spirit giveth life.)  (2 Corinth. 3:6)

"Letter of the law" people who see the world as facts and figures, as "i's" to dot and "t's" to cross, should perhaps, be the ones to attend to those functions - while those who live in an awakening awareness of the quantum field should, perhaps, be free to examine and pursue the Infinite Possibilities that are ever unfolding.

A little something for everyone!

A Good Question:

Is the experience stronger than you?  Or, are you stronger than the experience?

On the Stillness:

We are so geared to "going someplace;" "getting there;" "goal-setting - visualizing - becoming."  To DOING.

Sometimes we just need be still - and listen to the "still, small voice."

Sometimes we need to just "be."  A human being, not a human doing.

As Scripture says:  "Be still and know that I AM God"

Ego Trip

Someone told me recently  that until she met me her understanding of God was not too great.  Hers was a stereotypical concept of God as rigid ruler and stern judge who minutely watched our actions and rewarded us accordingly. (Heavens to Betsy! - We are undone!)

Then, she came to know Spirit as a loving presence with a wonderful sense of humor.

What an ego trip - for me.  To think of myself as a light-being, shedding knowledge and wisdom.  For a moment.  But then I realize (wistfully) it's just me.

When I was a little girl, my mother and sister thought a trip to New York City would be expedient for me.  (My sister was bemused with "he who was to become my brother-in-law").  He was attending graduate school at Columbia University.

Southern women (and little girls) were known for their subtleness (ha), so naturally I must  also go for "educational purposes." (My education - the reason for the trip).  (Oh yeah.  I was getting educated all right!)

My brother-in-law-to-be was such an old fashioned gentleman who had a care for my delicate sensibilities.  He procured tickets to various amusements for us; Broadway plays, etc.

I so clearly remember that he would not get them for a certain play because the word "virgin" was used in it. He felt it too "blue" for my sweet, unsullied self.

Some years later, the musicals "Hair" and "Oh Calcutta" erupted on the scene with nudity on the stage.  They "Let the sunshine in," for sure.

Now I see that Harry Potter ('Daniel Radcliff) is appearing nude on stage in London.  He is about 17 years old, I think.  An "interesting" photo of this has been circulating on the internet. (Gasp, dare I admit that I have seen it?)  (My earth-mind can think of some interesting subtitles.)

What a message to send to all young "Harry Potter Wannabees."

Some one wrote a book once and called it The Late, Great Planet Earth.

Perhaps it is well that my brother-in-law went to live in another realm last summer.

The Question:

I was asked by someone (nosey) how old was I.  How does one answer that?  How old is this body?  It's new.  All new cells constantly.  How old is my soul?  It's ancient.  I don't know when it emerged on this planet as a conscious entity.  Long, long ago, I feel.

It seemed to be a matter of some importance to her as she was most insistent that I tell her.  I can only say what my mother told me:  "You are as old as your tongue, and a little older than your teeth."

(As I understand from some wise ones, my brain got rewired when I had a stroke.  I do not know how old the thoughts of them are, or the method by which they come to me.  I suspect that is old, too.)

Quote from old, forgotten manuscript:

"Can the soul once alive to the secret temple, the Holy of Holies, forget its own divinity and become again the sordid thing it had been in its ignorance?"
